Gray Day in Fawnskin

What a beautiful morning. I went for a walk for the first time in ages and was awestruck by the blue and gray tones. The lake is calm and quiet reflecting the flat gray clouds crawling over the valley. Lots of water fowl are out and the white pelicans created a big contrast to the subdued hues of the early morning.

The upwelling has shifted (is that the term?) and so the lake is again clear instead of greenish. You can see the sand and fish from the surface. Many of the bushes have put on their autumn colors and it was a whopping 40 degrees this am instead of in the low 20’s like the last time I walked!

I’ve been staying in and doing yoga and other activities instead of braving the chill. The result is that I am getting lots done but not a lot of news!

Robert Carter will be Santa this year. The Christmas Tree lighting is schedule for December 3rd. I’ll get a time and let you know. It will be at the Fawnskin Fire Station and the boys usually have activities and snacks for the kids during the day. Then the kids decorate the tree with the ornaments they make and we light it. Great fun!

Also, don’t forget to attend the NSIA potluck our county supervisor will be there so come and bend his ear!

If you have a teen be sure to make sure they attend the meeting on the 12th at the Moose Lodge. David Emig is the mentor but the kids will ultimately determine what they do and how often. I’ll post these upcoming events on the calendar for you shortly.

I have other news but will come in again when I have more time. Anybody remember that fine picture of the wikiup? The mystery is solved! Stay tuned and I’ll reveal all…
