Happy New Year Fawnskin!

I don’t know about you but I am happy to welcome in the New Year! Last night town was bustling with activity. The Moose Lodge had a very good turnout for the Prime Rib dinner followed by music and dancing and I heard the Gold Pan was holding a “pajama party” for locals.

Me, I was down sick and managed to turn up for a neighborhood party. I enjoyed meeting some new people and catching up with neighbors I don’t get to chat with much. Although I got home early I couldn’t sleep and ended up chatting with my sister who is a hospital mortician back East…but that is another story.

Update on Local Restaurant
On the local front, a few locals have contacted me to say that they have had fantastic meals at the new restaurant in town. Personally, I am glad to hear it but you just need to go check it out yourself.

At least that is one thing consistent around here—everyone has an opinion and is not afraid to share it. The discussion turned to another restaurant across the lake and half the party said they loved it and the other half won’t eat there. So there you have it.

Parvo
I don’t think I mentioned the outbreak of parvo in the area. One of the reasons you should not allow your animals to poop in the woods without picking it up or burying it is because of the risk to indigenous wildlife. The coyotes are susceptible to it. In the the meantime, keep your pets from roaming and make sure they are up to date on their inoculations.

GG
Sorry that I’ve been so quiet. The laptop is up to speed and I should be back to normal within a week or so—with any luck. In the meantime, I am finishing recovering and have to get back to work on the book—so you might not see me too much.
