Memorial Weekend in Big Bear Valley & Fawnskin

Howdy! The other park owner called my source yesterday to say that the “Party in the Park” here in Fawnskin was cancelled because their house slipped off of the foundation. So, you decide what is real story.

This weekend KBHR is sponsoring a “Concert in the Park on Saturday, May 27th from 3pm until 5pm. My favorite local group, “Mad Mad Marcae & the Lost Roll of Pennies Blues Band” will be performing along with a guest appearance by David Longoria and April Diamond.

On Monday, May 29th “Mad Mad Marcae” will play at B’s Backyard BarBQue from 1pm until 5pm. B’s is located in the old Blue Whale/Tail of the Whale location.

Fawnskin Market
I took a tour and talked with Mark & Mike last night at the Fawnskin Market. They had hoped to be open yesterday but hit a bump with the county. So, no telling how long the delay is going to be. Mark is doing all he can to get past all the hurdles. Worse case scenario may delay opening anywhere from a couple of weeks up to 45 days. Keep your fingers crossed.

On the up side, he intends to serve coffee, cappuccino, sandwiches and other food items. His intention is to stay open until 10pm on weekends, too. One of the things Mark wants to support is local clubs or projects. He asked me about a Fawnskin team of some sort, and since I am not aware of any, I suggested he talk with Dave Emig regarding a bike team or the Fawnskin teen effort. Dave, if you have any ideas, run them by me or if anyone has any suggestions, email me.

Gardening & Chipper Days
I’d sure like to do some gardening but doubt how much I will do with all this pollen. If you have yard debris (other than pine needles) drop by the chipper days this weekend from 10am until 4pm. Just drive down to the triangle.
