Fawnskin Buzz

This weekend is going to be a busy one in Fawnskin. Tomorrow morning kicks off with the annual Doo Dah parade and the Fawnskin Festival while up the street is the Loggers’ Jubilee. We hope you will come over and join in the festivities.

Mark, owner of the Fawnskin Market, called me yesterday to report that he still is having challenges with the county. Although we all hope he gets open before the end of August it may be later if things don’t move faster. Much of the inventory he stored here was moved into some of his other businesses to avoid expiration.

Yesterday I ran into a number of people from the Big Bear Film Festival. Fellow author, Monika Skerbelis said that her book, “Liked It, Didn’t Love It” has a new publisher and that they have a sequel waiting in the wings.
Read an excerpt.

I originally met both Monika and her business partner Rona Edwards when I asked them to be guest speakers at the Alliance of Writers.

Monika said that they are seeking volunteers to help with the 2006 Big Bear Film Festival. You can call (909) 866-3433 if you’d like to help or to get information. BTW you can order your pass this weekend at a discount. The Film Festival is another one of my favorite annual events…

Landon Orcutt Update: 7/31/06 The flyer received an email today saying that Landon Orcutt is still missing. I do have a call into the Sheriff’s Department to verify or deny. For the person who asked, we never divulge our sources.
