In Other Valley News

I got an earful about changes that have occurred in Big Bear Magazine when people heard I planned on attending the Big Bear Chamber Mixer tonight. Changes are underway all the way around and maybe the local mag can attract some additional talent.

Although I don’t want to share all the dirt, you might find it interesting to know that the former editor has launched another magazine. This is the second former affiliate of Big Bear Magazine to start their own project.

The concept of Coffee House Digest is a good one and it will be interesting to see how it evolves. Based out of Sugarloaf, the second issue is now out but distribution is scant as I have not seen the first one anywhere and only discovered the second issue today.

In case you were not aware the other publication I referred to is Jet Settin The West.

Check both out online. Eastside Book Cafe has the current issue of Coffee House Digest and the UPS Store has copies of the latest Jet Settin The West.

Three is the Magic Number
I mentioned that Big Bear Magazine spawned two other publications. This is incorrect; Barbara (the publisher of Big Bear Magazine) says it is actually three. The third is Coronado Magazine. Good things are up at the magazine. Comment below if there are any particular things you would like to see in the regional publication.

Thanks for the kind words about Big Bear Magazine (I’m one of the “non-biased” staff). There are a lot of new features starting, and now the Bonus Bucks coupons are included. The magazine will again be mailed to all the local p.o. boxes, plus to all the 2nd homeowners, so we hope everyone in the Valley will benefit from the increased readership. The Sept/Oct issue will be in mailboxes this weekend or early in the week. We would love to hear feedback from our readers. Hope I haven’t been too “wordy” here :))

Love the Fawnskin Flyer! More informative than the newspaper & fun too!
