Fawnskin Market Hope Against Future Delays

As promised, I talked with Mark (owner of Fawnskin Market) and today he said he has a meeting at the store with the big boss (not Keith) from San Bernardino County Building & Safety. He has been getting the run around and the survey easement picture is not pretty.

I’d be pretty mad if I bought an existing business that has been operating for 30 plus years and then was forced to remain closed and lose the high season business for six months just after purchase. Business friendly is NOT what seems to be happening around town…locals are miffed too since three businesses remain closed in our block long commerce area.

Anyway, I heard that Big Bear Signs in Big Bear City won an easement fight against the county and Cal Trans. Not sure about the details but I’ll be sure to pass this info on to the new Fawnskin Market owner as he is now open to pursuing legal avenues should today’s meeting be futile.

Nancy of the Inn at Fawnskin also mentioned that she had easement issues that was resolved to their satisfaction.

One local said that the legalities regarding the easement issues are not cut and dried as the county/state agencies indicate and urges anyone having such issues to investigate.
