Heading Out of Fawnskin

Hey all. I am heading out to NY today for Book Expo America. Lots to do and little time to get it done. I took my morning amble and found that the trash levels are not as bad as they have been during other holidays but I still had to pick up a bunch and despite the new signage, trash bags are piled up outside of bins. No wonder many locals walk with trash bags. Do people not get that they should pack out their garbage. The local wildlife will have a field day…

In other news, this just in: The Catz in Hats debut release of Resilience on the Rhombus Records label has been submitted to the Academy of Arts and Science for possible Grammy nomination for their original songs.

The Catz have scored top 10 and top 20 chart action from Las Vegas to London England according to Jazztimes.com and even placed on the billboard chart earlier this year. The Catz became Internationaly known when their songs went to the charts in Paris, Canada and New Zealand last month.

The release I received said that a recent review in the Los Angeles Times called the Catz “One of the most entertaining and energetic jazz bands since Louie Prima.”

If you have not seen the The Catz, the group members are Terry Copley, Steve Johnson, Mike Wiens, Steve Boggio, and Skip O’Donnell. The group plays at the Mandoline Bistro every weekend.

I’ll be out of town until the 5th and doubt that I will be posting until then. Feel free to leave your comments.
