Mail Rate Change & Passport Day in Fawnskin
Our fabulous Postmaster Cynthia Crane is at it again. She is always up to something. This morning she did a great presentation to local residents and business owners about the new mail rates with tips and hints to make life easier. The rates changed today and Amangela’s was happy to help out…if you missed it be sure to ask her about the changes when you drop in.

From 10:30am until 1:30pm this Saturday Cynthia and two other local postal notables will be hosting a Passport Day at the Fawnskin Post Office. Passports are now required for all air travel out of the country and by 2008 may be required for land and sea travel as well.

If you need a passport drop by and be sure to bring your birth certificate, photo ID, and cash or check to apply for a first time passport. You can renew your current passport–just bring your old passport with you (if you have one).

Fees are $67 for adults (16 and older) and $52 for children. For expedited service the additional fee is $60. The Post Office fee is $30 and they can also take your photo for $15.

Children unter the age of 14 must have both parents present. If not, a notarized written statement from the second parent consenting to the child’s passport is required.

More passport information is available at the State Department website or you can call the National Passport Information Center at 877-487-2778.
