Parade today and other news…proposed tree & vegetation ordinance

Today is the Old Miners Day Parade. We shall see how many photos make it into the local paper as Fawnskin locals were disappointed that the Doo Dah Parade gained little coverage in the Grizzly–since the day is a BIG event over here in Fawnskin.

I received a couple of emails:

Are the Fawnskin Passports still available and if so to the PO box in Fawnskin? I would like to get one for my daugher and myself, I have been a long time visitor/homeowner of a cabin on North Shore two miles from Fawnskin towards the dam.

(Yes, just send an SASE and I’d be happy to send them off to you.)

Also other news – was the first “big” scratch off winner from Mike’s market of $100 – it is on the wall.

He is nice and the store looks great.

I enjoy the Fawnskin Flyer even if I do not know the people it is still interesting.

Thanks for the entertainment.

Thanks for taking a moment to drop me a line. Glad you are amused–I am too–most of the time!

In other news, this just came through via email as well:

If you live within the confines or have property in the City of Big
Bear Lake, you probably want to pay close attention to this. The
impact on you potentially could be huge.

If you live outside BBL, but have property in the Big Bear Valley, you
might be greatly interested.

If you do not meet either of the above criteria, I’ve probably sent
this to you by mistake, but you need to read a little of this to make
sure you don’t care……….

Proposed Ordinance RE: Trees / Vegetation Removal

>>> The Council will be discussing this Ordinance at their Aug 13th meeting @ 6:30 pm. Those of you who might be impacted, should plan to attend.

*snip* I have attached the copy of the proposed ordinance for review instead of the email–just click here (you’ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it).
