This just in: Chuck at the Big Bear Sports Ranch says he has lots of beds for any locals that have been evacuated. “Its not the Hilton but a great place! If you have kids they are more than welcome, I will even open the climbing wall for them. Got Wi-Fi too.”
Give Chuck a call if you need a place at (909) 585-3133
Yesterday my brother Terry contacted me a couple of times. He is a CDF Captain and his crew is on this fire–so hi guys! He isn’t down here because Lisa (his wife) has a baby due any day but I feel better knowing they are here.
In case you are not aware, there are firefighters from all over the state and also multiple agencies working together on this fire. Although it is their job, it means more to us than that…so thanks to all the crews for their help and hard work to save our homes, communities, and lives.
Some of the Fawnskin residents have opened their homes to the fire fighters for places to sleep and shower and some people on this side are cooking up meals for them. One of the things about this community that I like is the heart that shows up in crisis…feel free to post any of your announcements in the comments area.
