Butler Fire II Information Sources: Overloaded in Traffic

Hey, if you are not a mountain resident or someone in the area who needs the information it would be useful to us if you got off some of the websites we use for info. Inciweb.org has been flooded with traffic, I just got in and it has not been updated in 12 hours. That is pretty unusual…

Can’t get onto the webcam to check nor am I seeing any maps.

If you live near Boulder Bay–part of the road East of the dam is closed on the South Shore due to helicopters moving into the area for firefighting.

Having had to evacuate last year for the Day Fire, and fearing having to evacuate this year for the Zaca Fire, I have bad news: InciWeb is very underpowered and almost useless if anything is going on. Probably a case of the contract being awared to the lowest bidder, since I see RimOfTheWorld.net, after staggering a bit at the start of the increased visitors, upsized and is coping. How I wish InciWeb would do the same!

Our mountain community made it through two big fires, now I’m cheering for yours to do the same! (That, and I love hiking in the mountains behind Fawnskin.)
