Where did Fawnskin residents go?

Above: Butler Fire Red Cross parking area is virtually empty except for volunteer cars.

I made a stop this am to make sure my neighbors knew about the options for showers and more comfy quarters at the Big Bear Sports Ranch. The Red Cross volunteers told me they had about a dozen people at the shelter last night and a few people in for breakfast. As you can see from the photo about the place was empty. They did have an incident map on the wall which did not show the fire coming all the way down to the Hwy 18 as the photo from the wildfire mapping website did.

Do me a favor–leave a comment and let me know where you are staying!

The Red Cross volunteers said that the evacuated animals are being housed at the Big Bear Shelter next to VCA. The shelter is located on North Shore Road just East of the Stanfield Cutoff in Big Bear City, California 92314. Phone: 909-866-4943
