Firefighter Appreciation Dinner

Thanks to Chris Weber who called to clear up the details on the October 28th dinner. The “heros” are the local firefighters and support personnel and their families. The dinner is being put together by locals and not the NSIA. A group decided to do the dinner in appreciation for all those whose hard work the Butler II Fire saved our little town.

What confused me was the flyer I saw said to send checks to the NSIA. At any rate, local residents are donating money, food, and labor to put this on. If you want to make a donation, volunteer to serve, or help in some other way you can reach Chris at (310) 514-1495; Jim or Lola at (909) 866-9447; Dave or Kathy at (909) 878-3300; or Lori Gardiner at (909) 878-4220.

More PR or Reality?

In the meantime on the same topic, I received a clip sent into me by Ellen Caldwall of Van Nuys with the article titled, “Famed Valley Pair to Open 9-11 Park.”

I wonder when (or if) that is actually going to happen. The article only says they are “considering re-opening” with a celebration to honor the firefighters who battled the recent blaze.

You know my mantra…don’t hold your breath. I’ll save my other comments for later.
