Wildfire Updates

Above: Smoke Plume at about 2:00PM from the East end of Big Bear Valley.

The smoke billowed even more after I took the 2pm snap. The weird thing is that from my house in Fawnskin you cannot see any smoke and only the air attack gives the story away.

Mandatory Evacuation Now For All Communities From Crestline To Big Bear Dam: According to John Miller from the US Forest Service, there is now a mandatory evacuation for all communities between Crestline and the Big Bear Dam. Cedarpines Park and Valley of Enchantment are still under a voluntary evacuation.

I also heard that homes North of Highland Avenue have been given a voluntary evacuation notice.

One local in Crestlline reported (3:46pm) that the fire is still behind the ridge above Dart Canyon.

For my pals from San Diego and North County: Here is the Fire Blog that has many updates.
