Shakin’ in Fawnskin

So, did you wake up shortly after 4am this morning? There was a 4.0 earthquake about 7 miles SW of us. When I awoke, it was a rolling sensation–jolts usually mean it is closer.

I figured there was something bigger than had happened–or was going to happen and found that a there has been a lot of activity around the Andrenof Islands of Alaska–including a 7.2.

Not very fun for us residents but at least the trade off is that we live in paradise.

Outside it is still raining. I got a little dusting of snow early in the evening but the roads look clear and everything is wet this morning. Maybe I should go hit the deck with the snow shovel and get the rest of that ice!

Not sure how the caroling went last night. I’ll get the dirt and pass it to you after.

In the meantime, have a great day!

The dogs woke me about 10 minutes before the shaker. I was thinking afterwards that we have been so busy dodging fires and worring about snow storms and blizzards that I forgot we live in earthquake country. If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
