GG Interviews Big Bear Acrylic Artist Laura Janes

Big Bear is full of talent. As I mentioned earlier, this week I spent time chatting with local acrylic artist Laura Janes. In 2006 she was part of an exhibition sponsored by the Smithsonian.

Locally, artist Laura Janes teaches for the Bear Bear Atelier (artist workshop) in the Big Bear Village. Her next courses are available in April and include Watercolor, Drawing, Life Drawing, Painting, and Art Fundamentals for Teens.

The Atelier also offer classes in Plein Air, Sculpture, Art for Kids, and Creativity for Kids. Classes currently are scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Those interested in taking any of the courses are invited to call Laura for more information at (909) 747-7638.

I think Laura’s nature work in acrylic is stunning–so as promised–here is her “Forest Collection” slide show and the podcast.

We had some trouble with the microphones but below is the podcast anyway!
