Sorry to break it to you but you stumbled onto private property. The little building you see is a pump house not a residence. The people live near the road and are on the property full-time. This property actually extends through the creek to the other side.
On the other side, the property was just surveyed. The forest service often trades or sells parcels off and it appears that they did so with this land as there are now survey markers all the way up the creek--and even in the creek. I believe the area is slated for eventual development. There is a trail and an easement through the area but I am not aware of legalities on the matter.

GG,

I was just wondering isn't grout creek part of the national forest. If so why is it that I can't get to far along the creek without seeing signs posted KEEP OUT. I just walked on the peddersen mill side of the creek and was unable to go very far. There is a tiny house just past the mill with a Canadian flag flying and they have posted a sign saying KEEP OUT! Last year I was able to go much further along grout creek, I thought the creek was for everyone to enjoy walking beside. I am very sad about this because I love walking back there it was so peaceful and relaxing and it saddens me that I can no longer do this, and I have NEVER SEEN ANY PEOPLE at that little house, with the Canadian flag. Please let me know why that is, it is very upsetting.

Thank you so much, Debbie
