Big Bear Fishing Report & Other Fishy News

trout-big-bear-marina.JPG

Alan Sharp of Big Bear Marina said that lake surface water temperatures are in the 48 degree range and that the trout are coming out of spawn. (Although you wouldn’t know that by the trout up in Grout Creek.)

He said successful anglers are those soaking dough baits and inflated night crawlers along the Northshore and that the “Trout Triangle” is the most consistently producing area (Eagle Pt.-Observatory-Lagonita Pt.-Big Bear Marina).

Market & Other Scuttlebutt

In other news, someone is trying to drum up business for Fawnskin Market by saying they are going to close. The truth behind this rumor is that things are slow at the moment and concerns over closures of Hanna Flats & Gray’s Peak impacting the Fawnskin Market have been discussed.

So, drop by and buy something–even if it is just a soda once a week–but don’t panic.

Finally, I also got a disturbing phone call yesterday about the Moonridge Zoo. I don’t have any substantiation behind the news so keep your eyes open.

Seems there are some sudden changes…
