Big Bear Yard Art

Above: Part of the yard art epidemic in Big Bear.

First, I want to welcome the Men with Pens Trio–they are visiting the Fawnskin Flyer today as it is on the schedule for “drive-by-shooting Sunday.”

Now for the breaking news.

There is a yard art epidemic not only in Fawnskin but also throughout the Big Bear Valley.

Just before I first moved into the valley full-time, one of the neighbors invited me to go for a walk.

During the walk she suddenly said, “Look a deer!”

Imagine my surprise when the “deer” turned out to be one of those yard statues.

There seems to be a yard art epidemic around the valley. In most cases, these stauettes are deer but there are a few others in the mix such as bunnies, raccoons, and moose.

What is the world coming to? Feel free to add your own yard art discoveries below.

I like the yard art! ‘specially the raccoon! at least you don’t live in the south where yard art consists of anything from pink flamingos to grazing balls to broken down cars up on risers without any tires 🙂

Thanks for stopping by. We have some flamingos and assorted odds and ends, too. Fortunately, the broken down cars are on the east end of the valley!

Wow! I was looking on the net for some yard art and I found it here. We landscaped our backyard this fall so it will look like a retreat with small aspen trees and it has a cedar bridge and a pond underneath. By spring we are hoping to change our deer from the lighted christmas lights to chicken wire or to concrete to make it look like a real one. I appreciate your page so I can review it again when we are making our “new deers”. If you know of anyone that sells yard art like yours could you contact me soon.
    I would really appreciate it~!!!!!
