Early Morning Wake Up & MARTA

I spent a couple of days down in Running Springs and Arrowbear. Nice and quiet until the fire engines began to speed by around 4:30am.

A private home went up in flames just down the street from the home of my friends. It took about a half an hour for trucks to respond to the call place by a neighbor.

Yikes! It wasn’t that far from the fire station!

In other news, I hear the MARTA rates are going up. I called them the other day to check into their off-the-mountain route hours and rates.

Did you know that MARTA leaves at 6:20am if you want to get a ride down from Fawnskin? The big news is that you then you have to wait all day to get a ride back up.

Locals are always complaining that the local routes are horribly late.

Recently, RimOfTheWorld.Net reported that MARTA will be raising their rates. So does that mean that MARTA will also be on time and keep their posted schedules?

Note that MARTA stands for Mountain Area Regional Transit Authority  NOT Mountain Area RAPID Transit Authority.

I wonder if a name change would help them get up to speed–so to speak.

Do you have a MARTA experience you want to share?

I know that a few years back if MART went down the hill in the morning, and it started a good snow storm that day, chances are that MARTA would NOT be going back down the hill. How’s that for getting stranded? That is what someone told me of their experience, so I am wondering if it has changed any?

I’m not sure if it has changed or not but I heard the same stories. doesn’t look good if they do that.
