Big Bear Film Festival Results

Last week’s international film festival attracted over four hundred films including some from Israel, Austria, Peru and the Netherlands. The Big Bear Lake Film Award went to the Big Bear Medicine Wheel: Healing Mother Earth’s Sacred Sites. The film was directed by David Faithful and Debbie Nagata. Copies of the documentary may be purchased at Sol Food Market in Big Bear City and you can view all the Big Bear Film Festival Winners here.

It was a sad day when Big Bear Politics stopped posting and I haven’t seen any copies of Coffee House Digest on the market in some time (even the website was down) so I was surprised to see Lauren Repton attempting to resurrect the Bear Valley Voice online. It has been up since June but I don’t see much activity.

How about that Walgreens?

Walgreens has been open for a while. Want to know the scoop? Five Star Enterprises LLC, doing business as Norwalk Toyota, acquired the 12,581-square-foot retail building from RX Investment Corp. for $5.52 million, or approximately $438.50 per square foot.

The property is currently leased to Walgreens on a 75-year absolute triple-net lease with a right to vacate after 25 years with a one-year notice.

In the meantime, tons of other rentals sit empty around the valley…

Thanks for the mention GG. In this economy in particular, we all know that paying for advertising is the last thing that businesses are interested in, online is the wave of the future. With that said, Bear Valley Voice used to be a newspaper up here with a political flair. The online community I have created here is for people to voice their opinions without censorship. And sites like this take time to grow in such a small community where it is sometimes easier to chat with someone at the post office or store. Perhaps we could exchange links on our sites…let me know.
