Big Bear Fishing Report

Above: 11 yr old Joseph Foulger of San Pedro caught a 3.04 lb. trout while trolling a Hot Shot of Boulder Bay.

Rainbow Trout fishing got a little better this past week on Big Bear Lake. Water temperatures have dropped to 54 degrees, the algae is staring to die off, and clarity is improving as the algae disappears.

All that is needed now is higher oxygen levels. There are a lot of trophy sized fish plying the waters of Big Bear Lake. Be sure to hit it hard in the weeks to come, before winter weather settles in, and score your big fish.

Juan Jouel of Big Bear City landed a 7.68 lb. trout off Stanfield Cutoff on Rainbow power bait. (Photo not available.) while  Jim Hass of Long Beach trolled a Rapala off the Observatory for a 4.73 lb. rainbow.
