Selective Enforcement?

It seems that CalTrans has decided to spend our local tax money to pay workers to pick up and measure the distances of some of the candidate signs around these parts.

Geez, don’t they have better things to do?

I’d rather see them fixing potholes, picking up trash (especially those cinders) rather than making sure the temporary signs are not within the easement.

Problem is that they are only picking up SOME of the signs and leaving others.

BTW: I hear there is a new CalTrans supervisor for our district…anyone else here that?

Reminds me of the new businesses that are made to bring things up to code while others are clearly not…but that is for another rant. 🙂

Hmm, is there a political leaning on the part of agency officials or workers?

What do you think?

This is a pretty common tactic down here. Often the workers think they are helping their candidate by doing this but the resultant bad press really turns that around. I’d be advising candidates up there not to waste money on signage since there is such high transient traffic. Better to use their funds for mailers, or just get out and walk the area and meet the actual people who can vote for them.
