Dennis London Honorary Mayor Candidate

One of the first people I met when I moved to Fawnskin was Dennis London.

Today he remains one of my favorite residents because of his friendly personality and willingness to help and serve those in the community.

Dennis and Kathy have been full time residents in Fawnskin for ten years and moved here to live the good life–and to leave the Rat Race behind.

Dennis is a Southern California lad and grew up not too far from here–in Anaheim where he worked in the Chemical Coatings business for 32 years. He also ran an automotive paint plant in Anaheim before he was transferred to Detroit.

Service to others is nothing new to Dennis. His father was killed in Pearl Harbor while serving on the battleship, California and as his only surviving son, Dennis did not have to serve in the United States Navy, but chose to do so. He shipped out aboard the first official Naval vessel to Saigon (1962) before things got too bad.

Kathy and Dennis have been together since they were young teens and he says, “My passion is life and the love of my life, Kathy.”

If you have ever seen them together you know that it is mutual. It is nice to see two people so passionate about each other after years and years of marriage. They have two kids–Stacey and Jeff and three grandchildren.

Dennis is a very active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and has served as Governor of our own Moose Lodge 2085.

He currently holds the position of Sergeant at Arms and is a Fellow of the Loyal Order of the Moose (which means he holds a second degree status within the organization).

He has served in the capacity of officer in a number of positions and is always the first to volunteer to help at fundraisers and other community events.

In addition he is a member of the American Legion, the Big Bear Historical Society, and has volunteered as a Fire Lookout at Butler Peak (through the Discovery Center via the Forestry Department).

His favorite part of Fawnskin is the small town atmosphere but he also enjoys the beauty and serene atmosphere of living here.

When asked about his candidacy for Honorary Mayor of Fawnskin he said,

“If I am elected, there will no longer be snow berms in driveways, animal control will not hassle roaming pets, but only pick up after them.

Cluster Pines will become Cluster Dunes…

I will communicate with all people in the valley including the South Shore residents and visiting Flatlanders without preconditions.

I also believe in pork-barrel spending and I’m not above mud slinging.”

On December 2, 2008 Dennis will be holding a pizza fundraiser at Moose Lodge 2085 in Fawnskin and will announce other activities in the future.

His final message to you?

“Without regard to the aforementioned goals and projects, in all sincerity I would serve as Honorary Mayor with integrity and pleasure.

Thanks, and God bless Fawskin!”
