How To Build An Igloo

So, with all the recent snow we have been left with some hefty blocks of snow and ice in the form of berms. What to do with all that snow?

Build an igloo.

Seriously, you can find tutorials on how to build an igloo complete with photos and detailed instuctions. In fact there are even vintage igloo building videos or perhaps instruction on how to build an igloo from the BBC is more to your liking…45 minutes seems pretty fast to make an igloo.

But this gives me a good idea about what I can do that with the compact berm recent visitors unwittingly transformed into a solid mass of ice for me because they were too lazy to shovel the snow somewhere else when they accessed the parking pad.

*sigh*

If people only knew the trouble they cause.

Anyone see the visitors who stole the blue shovel from off of my parking pad?

Thanks a lot…and as one pal put it so nicely, “a pox on them!”

Anyway, because the berm was driven over multiple times, it is now this ice mound nightmare and all I would need is a pick axe–forget the shovel–to dislodge the mess and make an igloo.

Hmm, maybe I could just pile more snow up and then use the pick axe to make the entry.

However, I don’t want to make one because it would just attract more tourists and at this point I am pretty tired of the mass invasion that we’ve endured for over the last week and a half.

One of my pals suggested that he might construct a giant one and charge entry to those people who are already trespassing on his property.

Now, one reader said I should start a regular “Royal Rant” to follow up my If I Were Queen post.

Heh, heh, heh. Glad you guys liked it.

So, I am pondering the upcoming things I could do while I wait for my coronation…

Then wouldn’t  you know it, yesterday we got to have a meal with two of the local sheriffs out of the Twin Peaks station.

Imagine my glee when I was given more insight into the issues created by the onslaught of down-the-hill visitors AND more importantly I got more stupid tourist tricks–the pro version.

Stay tuned you are gonna like these.

In the meantime, I just want to end this post by saying how happy we are that Markie (the daughter of Terri & Karl at the Bus Stop) survived her drop over the Rim of the World highway.

The gal went over in her VW about 9pm on Saturday night. The car tumbled down an estimated 600 feet after she hit some cinders on the icy highway.

She climbed out and then, without her shoes, she managed to climb back up to the highway where someone finally stopped to pick her up.

She was airlifted to the hospital and all reports are that she sustained some bruising but is alive and home.

I didn’t call today because the family was up until the wee hours of the morning but remember to slow down during these icy conditions!

With all the foreclosures on the mountain it could be a COOL dwelling for the homeless! NOT! With our luck in this county they’ll tag it for a permit violation. Hah
By the way I stole your shovel (heh heh heh)
