Hate When That Happens!

So, last night I discovered that my refrigerator/freezer had bit the dust…I hate when that happens.

It wasn’t pretty since we had been down in the desert. The other bummer was that it was full of tasty treats and homemade dishes…most had to be tossed.

Have you ever had a refrigerator bite the dust?

It makes this nasty soup on the bottom of the freezer and fridge. Since I have a lot of vegetables and such–it also didn’t smell too great.

The sad thing is that the sucker is only about six years old. Perhaps it is just a part issue but something tells me it might not be.

It used to be that when you bought an appliance or vehicle that you could count on the purchase lasting for years and years.

I had a hair dryer that lasted just under thirty years but the last two bit the dust within a year of purchase.

When I went to go get a replacement belt and roller for my vacuum cleaner, the store (a vacuum speciality store) told me that the company only made their new vacuums like mine to last 18 months.

Geezuhs! No wonder our landfills are a mess and we are creating such a mess with the environment.

Anyone have a good repairman referral?

Oh my gosh! I don’t know a good repairman, but you are welcome to use my fridge to store some stuff. I hate it when that happens too!

For fifteen years I have been buying stoves, washers, dryers and refrigerators at Guaranteed Appliances. They are now located in Big Bear Lake. They service the appliances you buy and do a great job. The business has new owners (5 years ?) and they are really nice. My stove ( 8 years old) started not heating properly and they came right out and replaced the igniter and charged a reasonable price. Try them.

@Shadows Mom: Thanks I put a lot of stuff upstairs but for safety reasons and going to have to dump most of it.
@Mtngram: Thanks for the recommendation. I am glad to hear about them. I’ve seen them before but have not received feedback on their services.

Man girl that sucks! We had one croak after 6 months. Thank god for warranties. One time when our old blew in winter we buried our food in the snow. One day we when all melted we saw that had a twenty five pound turkey. we were so broke at the time. We thawed it out the rest of the way and lived on it for a week!

I got extra frozen tasty morsels here if you need them!
