Habitat for Humanity Big Bear Events

This just in from Rick Fromm, President of our local Big Bear Valley Habitat for Humanity:

Sunday, March 15, 2:00 p.m.
Join Habitat for Humanity for an Open House at the Presbyterian Church, 579 Knickerbocker Road (one block south of Big Bear Blvd). This will be an opportunity to learn about the goals and plans for the new year.

Speakers will discuss aspects of local efforts to date and present a slideshow showing the construction of previous Big Bear Habitat homes.

There will be a question and answer session–and visitors are invited to start participating in BBVHFH projects. Refreshments will be provided.

Monday, March 16, 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
There will be a Taco Night fundraiser for BBVHFH at the Sonora Cantina, 41144 Big Bear Blvd. All proceeds from the sale of $0.99 tacos will be dedicated to the home currently under construction.

This is an all-day event, so feel free to drop by for lunch, dinner or a mid-afternoon snack. BBVHFH folks will be there to assist and answer any questions you might have about Habitat for Humanity.

Saturday, April 18, 9:00 a.m.
Team Habitat again will participate in the Big Bear Valley MS Walk to help raise funds to fight this horribly debilitating disease. The MS Walk starts at the North Shore Elementary School on Stanfield & North Shore Drive. If you would like to join our team, you are most welcome to do so. You can call or e-mail us, so that we can register you as a team member. If you would like to contribute as a sponsor of one of our team members, you can send a donation to the address listed above.
