Big Bear Fishing Report by Alan Sharp

Rainbow Trout and Channel Cat fishing picked back up in excellent fashion after the weather settled. It is still a little chilly and windy here for this time of year.

Water temperatures stayed the same and oxygen remained plentiful. The lake temperature is 59 degrees on the surface at the west end and 62 degrees on the east. the bottom temperatures are 58 degrees in the west and 61 degrees in the east.

Oxygen levels remain above 5 parts per million throughout the lake top to bottom with the except at the West Ramp where it drops down from 30 feet to the bottom.

Bait anglers still rule the roost with the majority of the fish coming in on PowerBait and nightcrawlers.

Trolling is improving with reports of triple limits in 2 hours on Needlefish at 3 colors of leadcore. No news on the panfish or bass bite.
