LOL Yes, it gets a bit obnoxious on the streets nearby. I enjoyed it best when it was down at Captain John’s Fawn Harbor & Marina. Can’t be bothered to go when it is no where near the water!

I wont even come to town this weekend–its just loud and everyone parks in front of our place. I feel sorry for the animals everytime a canon noise goes off.

Last year I wanted to see what it looked like inside the fair, told them where I lived and how inconvenienced we are where were located at, and if I could just pop in and see what all the noise was about.
They said I had to pay $15.00 to even “look” and that they are sorry but they wont give us residents any discounts.
    Good attitude..huh.

I left more upset than before. I wish they would take their noise and attitude back over to the other side of the lake.
Fawnskin is a jewel and carnival shows like the Pirate fair, just make a mess of our town.

@Kat: The first year they moved to the saw mill they gave passes to some of the locals adjacent to the event. My friend actually moved and put her house up for sale partially due to the issues related to the events.

Sadly, one of the reasons they moved the event from the public area of Captain John’s Marina was because they didn’t want to pay the fees. How they managed to get permission to move from a public area into a private neighborhood area is beyond me.

Although I enjoyed the event down at the marina. I found it to be very lacking and like you am not impressed with the venue. I’ll be working from home instead but live far enough away that I will miss it all.
