News & Not News

So, I have company this week and we’ve been going all around town and picking up news and scuttlebutt.

Eric at Get the Burger has an inspection next week and if he gets the okay to proceed hopes to get open by Wednesday if things go well. I took some snaps which I’ll post in the next couple of days.

Right now the flooring is going in. He has some great plans and the place is looking fabulous.

In the village a new business called Cucina will be opening next to United Wood Craftsmen. The word is that they will also be offering cooking classes for those of you who might be interested.

We had a long chat with Tim (Hippie Tim) and Lorie of the Turquoise Teepee.

Lori is waiting on a couple of shipments so the place is still a bit sparse but is focusing her inventory on quality Native American Art & Jewelry.

At the moment she has a couple of great pieces of art up and some very nice earrings.

In addition, she will be adding more souvenirs and currently also has some nice cards in stock.

Eventually, the couple will be adding fun items and activities for kids (such as gold panning) and are planning some property improvements to allow for more expansion.

It is their first shop and they welcome locals to come visit a while during their normal hours which are Friday afternoons, Saturday, and Sunday.

Over at the North Shore Tavern things have changed again. There is some clean up happening on the lot adjacent to the property.

The Chad’s Beach Club sign is down as well as the Sunday Brunch & Cash Only signs. It appears as if the place will be available for private rentals for events–which makes a lot of neighbors happy.

The Prowler was pulled out last week and caught the eye of many locals down in the Running Springs area–the family came up last week and took a look at the damage.

If you are down in Running Springs or Arrowbear–the Bus Stop Coffee House & Community Cafe is closed for a couple of weeks.

Believe it or not, the Golden Grill (old Blonde’s) has been opened for a couple of weeks now.
