GG was the Medical Aid

amublance

So, I didn’t need it but count myself lucky that when I began to go into anaphylaxis shock I was at a neighbors just up the street.

The guys were also at Fire Station 49 so things turned out well. I doubt I would have made it to the hospital otherwise.

Eric made a good call with the benadryl and my hallucinations and some of the other symptoms (closing throat, wheezing) subsided pretty quickly.

The ambulance ride was entertaining. Didn’t use the sirens and I was pretty disoriented. I also had a few odd symptoms on the way but they also subsided.

My body was still reacting and I watched hives and a rash get worse until they gave me more benadryl and steroids.

My brother (a battalion chief up North) told me what to expect as I sat propped up in the Emergency Room until they were ready to release me.

Glad that Eric didn’t choose to use the Epi because I’d probably feel worse.

Anyway, it is good to be alive in Fawnskin…

Today, I feel like a truck hit me so I won’t be blogging much.

More later…

Glad to hear you will be feeling better. I am in Orange County and visit your site often. We lived in Big bear for 14 years and you help to bring us back. I hope you don’t go on that trip again!! Take care of yourself.

Thanks Peg. I don’t want to do that again either. I am a mess today but at least things are better!

Do you know what caused the anaphylaxis shock?
The reason I ask is that the wife and I have two houses in Fawnskin, and two years ago she had the same problem twice. She has no allergies and the only thing the Drs. found is the blood pressure meds she was taking could have caused them. (2 trips down the hill by Mercy Air from BVH).
