Big Bear Habitat for Humanity Fund-Raiser

Big Bear Valley Habitat for Humanity will host a $1 Taco Night at the Sonora Cantina (41144 Big Bear Blvd., in Big Bear Lake) on Monday, October 5, 2009.

All proceeds from the sale of $1 tacos will be dedicated to buying materials for the new home currently under construction. This is an all-day event, so feel free to drop by for lunch, dinner or a mid-afternoon snack.

BBVHFH folks will be there to assist and answer any questions you might have about Habitat for Humanity and correspondent Rick will be there all day!

We live in the San Diego area, but have a home near Paradise Way in BBC. We just spent a week there, and ate at the Sonora Cantina to support the fundraiser. I asked a nice lady there about the Habitat House, and it turns out she is the lucky person who was chosen and hopes to move in before Christmas. Big Bear has such nice people, beautiful scenery, and great restaurants. I love this Fawnskin Flyer blog, and read it constantly when I can’t be up there in person. Someday I’d like to live up there permanently. Thanks for the wonderful photos and interesting topics, and good luck this winter dealing with the snowplows and tourists! -Missing Big Bear in San Diego
