Fawnskin Holiday Activities

Above: Some of the festive decor at Moose Lodge 2085

I have been totally oblivious to the date and only know that Christmas is around the corner since new neighbors Doug and Kelley have a counter up on their house.

Just met some other new neighbors too–and wouldn’t you know it I can only remember the kid’s name.

Hate that!

Anyway, Noah and his dad just moved in on Brookside. I’ll ask again when I see him.

BUT don’t give me a bad time, a neighbor I met recently swore she thought my name was Jackie.

LOL Gotta be a first but I sure am glad someone else has sometimers! (Sometimes I remember and sometimes I don’t!)

I had fun today spending some time with a group of neighbors down the road and had a laugh fest for half the day. I probably would have stayed all day if I was not on deadline for a project.

*sigh*

But before I forget…the hot news for Fawnskin this week:

Pie Day is today! Head down to the Post Office around 8:30am to partake of the annual holiday chomping and chatting event.

Since many people are traveling, the pie day was moved from the 24th to the 21st.

However, the cookie daze…I mean days, will continue through the week as locals bake and then share their stash down at the Post Office.

We just love to celebrate around here.

Any excuse to get together and we do.

Gotta love a community that likes to party with the neighbors for blocks!

Now if that wasn’t enough for you, get ready for Christmas Caroling at 6pm Tuesday, December 22, 2009.

Just dress warm and meet the gang at Moose Lodge 2085 to load up on the trailer.

If you feel like getting there early, enjoy the Happy Hour food and discounts from 4-8pm.

Christmas Caroling is guaranteed to be entertaining if nothing else.

One year, despite the caroling books, we ended up just singing the same old song all night–or humming the tune.

Yep, nothing like small town life.
