Cabin in the Sky

Somehow the hail and rain missed my house yesterday but my brave neighbors joined Chris (of the Big Bear Historical Society) to tromp up hill to eventually find the infamous Cabin in the Sky, a historical point of interest here in Fawnskin.

Around these parts it can sometimes be hard to find such treasures but after a long effort–they finally conquered the task.

Typical of Fawnskin residents.

They didn’t let a little hail and lightening stop them…

It is hard to believe that this year will be the eleventh annual Big Bear Cowboy Gathering. This year the event is dedicated to Curly Musgrave who passed away in December of 2009.

The Cowboy Gathering runs from August 19-22 2010 starting with a kick-off fundraising dinner where you can enjoy the talents of Nancy Lee, Richard Elloyan, and stories from Gary Robertson. Mingle also with Gary Allegretto, Alan Geoffrion and the Pioneer Town Posse.

On Friday evening there will be a special tribute to Curly Musgrave at the PAC (Performing Arts Center).

If you have never attended this event–it is worth your time and money. You can get the full schedule on the Cowboy Gathering here.
