This & That From Fawnskin

So this warm weather changed a bit yesterday and GG was cold at home but feeling warm and fuzzy across town.

Perhaps this was because my dog fans (Katie and Shadow) have decided that I have “park lady” tattooed on my forehead.

I’ve created two monster mutts!

You see I began taking them over to Miller Park and while they meander, I’ve been picking up MUP (more unidentified poop) .

It was warm (the weather not the poop) in the sun but in the shade or wind–it was clearly returning to fall.

I’ve been taking Shadow out on walks as I build up my strength and stamina and we both return worn out but happy that we have been out on the trails.

So, during one of my meanderings I had this great idea to bag some of the poop and just leave it in the park for the parents of the MUPoopers.

Eleven bags later, each sitting with MUP in the location it was bagged, I left to get the camera and take pictures so I could report this latest strategy.

You know, it being breaking news and all–and a seriously bizarre idea that seems to indicate that I have WAY too much time on my hands to even ponder such an action.

Anyway, much to my surprise, someone collected them all and put them in the bin!

*sigh*

I’ve still been picking up piles–mostly small dogs these days–but I am sure to catch the culprit sometime or perhaps Snoop Sister Deb will see something and send Katie over to bite their ankles!

Randy Miller
Randy is going to be features in a Nat Geo feature called, Grizzly Face to Face on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 10:00PM (also will air Internationally on as Hollywood’s Killer Bear on Sunday, Nov 21, 2010 at 10:00PM).

Most people around these parts know Randy Miller is an exotic animal trainer who owns Predators in Action up at Onyx Summit. He works with large predators, including a grizzly bear named “Rocky” who killed his cousin Stephan Miller (who was more like his brother) on April 22, 2008.

According to the promo, “Randy is conflicted, and for the first time in his career, afraid. The show seeks expertise from a biologist, and draws upon eyewitnesses to investigate what actually took place. We explore the dangers of working with large, unpredictable predators, and whether Randy should attempt to wrestle with Rocky again.

Incidents like that are tough. Losing someone close to you, being helpless to stop it, and having an animal you’ve worked with, trusted and cared about is a tough road. I have not talked to Randy but once or twice since the incident and so the program will be interesting and I hope it was also cathartic in some way.
