Fawnskin Notable Art Voltz Gets Award

Fawnskin resident, Art Voltz has been awarded the 2010 Volunteer of the Year for his work at the Big Bear Discovery Center.

Art is a familiar face around town and is one of those rare California natives. He worked as a professional firefighter for 28 years (Glendale) and first fell in love with the Fawnskin area in the early sixties relocating to Fawnskin in 1986.

Since is a social kind of guy and he keeps active serving as a fire lookout host at Butler Peak and he has also served as a docent for the Historical Society Museum.

Most people meet Art in town since he takes part in the North Shore Improvement Association activities and can often be seen working in the community gardens. He is also in charge of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Fawnskin.

Congratulations Art…when is the party to celebrate?
