News & Tree Bark Quiz Answers

So, as luck would have it, I am heading down the hill for medical stuff–which is why it snowed.

Around town things have been hopping.

Angela and Amanda had some slow days just before their last day here. Amangela’s no longer belongs to Fawnskin–they have headed over to the South Shore to try their luck in the big city.

I whined as much as I could in protest but it didn’t do anyone any good and I could not even manage a whimper on their last day.

Next week is the infamous cookie days at our beloved little community gathering place (aka Fawnskin Post Office).

Starting on Monday, December 20-24, 2010 the place will be filled with favorite cookies supplied by local residents. Since most everyone shows up at the Post Office, it has become a great tradition to mail and munch.

On Thursday, December 23rd it will be pie day. This is when coffee and pie is served up all day.

Many locals mill around to catch up, enjoy visiting neighbors and eat those tasty treats.

BTW you might have noticed that the Fawnskin Post Office will be closing at 1:30pm on December 24th and December 31st. If not, GG has alerted you.

Now I was sad to see the big trio of trees taken down adjacent to the ol’ Buck n’ Doe just off the triangle but it is always interesting to watch the tree men work. They really have an interesting skill set but I hate seeing trees disappear.

Finally, if you saw the film crew, they were working on a pilot for a new television series. Bird Dog is set in Oregon and I thought it was amusing to watch them place fake fall leaves on the trees over in Big Bear Lake the other day. The crew loved our little town of Fawnskin but had to mix it up a bit.

I believe their sign said Hidden Valley Oregon (or something like that) so keep your eyes peeled for the announcement.

Now during the last publication date I posted these tree bark photos by Bob Carlisle. Here are the answers!

In case you forgot…here are the slides.
