FARTA is the local nickname of the MARTA (Mountain Area Regional Transit Agency) service for the valley. Just last week, my favorite driver seemed to be aiming at me as I ambled out of the door over at the Stater Brothers market. It was so bizarre that a couple of witnesses commented about it.

Erratic driving aside, I just heard that MARTA is one of the 130 agencies that will get to share in the $78 million awarded to public transit and air quality projects by CalTrans. The local share is an estimated $326,620 which is targeted to pay for things such as updating, safety, and acquisition of more transport vehicles.

Word is that $80,000 will go to new buses.

Drivers License Delays
Since GG has a commercial license (I can drive big rigs and other such stuff) there are hoops I have to jump through during renewal. However, since there have been some recent changes to the security features on the driving licenses, delays in getting them delivered has been common.
