Snowing, Snowing, Snowing

farmers market

Snow Conditions Hwy 330
It has been cold and snowy all day and I’ve been nestled in for the duration. The bad news is that commuters on Highway 330 between Running Springs and Highland have been suspended due to heavy snow.

Highway 330 is now closed to both down hill and up hill travel during commuter periods on Friday, April 8, 2001. It is anticipated that the commuter periods will resume Monday, April 11, weather permitting.

The reason? It appears that nobody was contracted to plow the route making it unaccessible.

Eesh.

Chain restrictions have been variable according to the changing conditions. The main highway in Fawnskin is completely clear as the snow is not sticking to them as of this afternoon.

The weather is expected to clear and warm up next week which is a good thing since the Big Bear Farmers Market is scheduled to beginning Tuesday, April 12th. As in the past, the hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Big Bear Convention Center (42900 Big Bear Boulevard in Big Bear Lake).

Farmers Market
Fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, eggs, honey, nuts, bread and a variety of other items will be available each Tuesday until October.

The farmers market has also become a gathering place for many locals and also features crafts and other retail items. Hot food is also available.
