Memorial Day Activities in Big Bear

Memorial Day Big Bear

Memorial Day around Fawnskin is a busy time. Moose Lodge 2085 has a lot of members who have served and tends to be a pretty patriotic bunch. On Saturday there will be a Antique Car Show right here in Fawnskin at the Lodge! Also, the BBQ on Saturday at 4pm is not to be missed as Lodge members manage the grill all day and it is a great time for food and visiting with neighbors who live here both full and part time.

Locally there are a lot of garage sales and yard sales around the Big Bear Valley. Two that I know of happen to be up on Crags X Lodge at Dennis & Kathy London’s house and down the street on the parking pad at Brookside X Garden Place where GG will be selling off some things. A Ford Ranger XLT, computer set up (tower with drives, keyboard, mouse, monitor but sans the motherboard and hard drive), skis and snow sports attire (with carrying case), vintage books, popular books and some odds and ends including gadget accessories.

Drop by to say hello to us. Not sure if I’ll do both Saturday and Sunday but all funds go to the new vehicle fund so get out yer wallets!

Up at Camp Whittle is a family “Survivor” Weekend event. There will also be swimming, arts and crafts, and more. This is a great way to introduce camping to your family and experience it with your child. This event is open to the public and is family-oriented (no alcohol please). The price is $150 per person (14 years old and up), $95 per person (children five to 13), children four and under are FREE! This includes your lodging, meals and programming (except for Friday night’s meal which pizza can be ordered for at a fee). Families are asked to arrive after 3 pm up until 8:30 pm on Friday.
