Life In Fawnskin

Life in Fawnskin this week…

Monthly Potluck
Tonight is the North Shore Improvement Association’s monthly potluck. Plan on bringing a dish to share.

Come to think of it, grab a neighbor and make them join in the festivities down at Captain John’s Marina & Fawn Harbor.

Festivities are scheduled to start at 6:00pm but arrive early to catch up with neighbors.

It might be a good idea to bring along a jacket and we always love a few stories!

Meditation Course
The Wat Dhammasujitto Meditation Center (1125 Chickasaw Road) will be offering a two day meditation course in the near future.

In addition to the newly ordained monks and novices, the group has a notable meditation teacher who is visiting from Thailand.

A date has not been set but interested parties are invited to call or email for additional information and to reserve a spot.

Kay can be reached at (774) 232-2488 or by sending an email to meditate at  hotmail.com.

Fawn Park
So, just in case you forgot, this month makes the fifth year anniversary that Fawn Park has remained closed to public use. If you missed some of this see take some time to review a few former rants posts:

To recap: The property was originally purchased in 2001 after the couple sold some property and needed to invest the money into more property. It has slowly developed over time.

On March 26, 2003 the Fawn Park Corporation (Entity Number: C2511495) was formed. Although funds have continued to be collected, it has been closed to the public since early July 2006.

Even though it is closed to everyone but the owners, new additions and signs keep popping up such as this one.

But those sheep are still getting around on their own and sleeping on the job which gives some of the locals some sort of amusement.

Doo Dah, Doo Dah
For those of you who want to help out, the Doo Dah Parade is scheduled for July 30, 2011. You can contact Moose Lodge 2085 or North Shore Improvement Association for additional information on how you can help out.
