Busy Body in Fawnskin

fawnskin dog shasta

Above: Shasta (dog of Fawnskin) is a busy body!

So, GG has been a busy body.

No, no, not nosy like you might think, but just a crazy project completing gal.

Shasta, Shadow’s sister is the real busy body around these parts and visits the neighbors when she escapes from her yard.

You have probably seen her down at Captain John’s since she likes to drop by to say hello and to sometimes take a dip.

Things around here have been bustling–as usual. So here is the round up!

Post Office Woes

Word on the street is that we may lose our San Bernardino mail station.

If this is the case, the mail will be serviced out of Moreno Valley and it is likely that delivery will take a bit longer.

Forget talk of the town, this stuff is the talk of the nation!

Seriously, cutting the fat from the top down might help–but as things sound, a lot of people might end up losing their jobs with the changes.

Delivery day cuts might also result in more job losses.

Time will tell just how this will play out.

Nuts!

Truth be told–Fawnskin has a few nuts. But in the case you get get a whole lot of ’em from one place.

You see, Janet Dooley is raising money for the AAUW (American Association of University Women) by selling fresh nuts.

She has a notice down at the post office and you can pick up almonds, pecans, cashews, pistachios, and mixed nuts for a reasonable price.

Buying them will also benefiting some young women–so order up!

Library Book Sale

The annual library book sale is underway and you can pick up some great deals if you drop by the Big Bear Library.

The final day is this Saturday, September 17th from 9am until 2pm.

Film Festival

In case you forgot, this weekend is the International Film Festival. I’m not sure I can break away but it is one of my favorite events of the year.

You can grab a pass or buy tickets at the door but for more information visit the film festival website.

If not, you can catch some of the winners on Sunday afternoon at the Performing Arts Center (PAC).

Wine Walk

Saturday, September 17th is also the Wine Walk in the Village of Big Bear Lake from 3:30pm until 7:30pm or is it 4:00pm until 8:00pm? Wine Walk announcements and signs don’t seem to match!

However, what is clear is that the cost is $30 per person.

Okay, that is it for GG but I’ll be working up a storm.

I’ll see you next week or if I get out on a break!
