Fawnskin Weather Wonders & Club Bombay

So, the weekend weather wonders were many. Conditions varied from dumping a few inches of snow during a storm, to beautiful after storm conditions and then went right back into another snow storm system.

I love winter weather because I hunker down and write, write, write.

Then, I take breaks where I venture out to shovel snow and take in the crisp, fresh air.

The world is silent and only the muffled sound of snow flakes hitting the different surfaces, the rustling of the last remaining leaves, and the fluttering of bird wings can be heard.

Depending on where you live in the valley, the weather can be clear, cloudy, wet, or snowy.

On the way to town on Friday I encountered each different weather pattern until I nestled down next to the fireplace of a local coffee house–since I couldn’t use mine until after the chimney sweeps performed the inspections and cleaning.

Now I’ve been dreading the winter this year, as have a lot of other locals, since the past couple of years have been heavy on the snow and have felt longer and harder than normal.

This season seems like it is off to an early start but I have to wonder if I am going to see the strange weather patterns of last season.

My trees and plants were budding in the warmth of the sun’s rays, then it would snow and freeze, and then warm up again.

Saturday was pretty warm despite predictions of a temperature drop, but then Sunday it snowed again.

On thing is for certain, time will reveal all.

And no, I am not a meterologist–but admit it, we all seem to ponder about the weather and speculate about weather conditions to no end anyway.

Club Bombay | Big Bear LakeClub Bombay passed their final inspection on Friday, November 4, 2011 and I was privileged to get an inside look at the new establishment located next to my favorite Big Bear restaurant, the Himalayan.

Robert and Heather Curtis were working on the last finishing touches necessary before they opened the doors.

GG was going to break the news on Friday, but Frankie stole the headline.

However, here is a sneak peak.

Club Bombay is located at 672 Pine Knot Avenue, Suite One (Big Bear Lake) and will be open as of today.

If you have any questions, you can reach them at (909) 547-3435.

Tell ’em GG sent ‘cha!
