Jordan Romero | Local Boy Does Good

Jordan Romero | Fawnskin, CA

Before I get into anything else, local Fawnskin native, Jordan Romero finally finished his quest to conquer the Seven Summits in December of 2011.

Today you probably have seen them making the rounds in the major media.

Now Fawnskin Folks know that he grew up here–and lives here still.

Those of you who are regular readers know how I feel about Fawnskin getting the brush off more than usual, know that I am going to point out that our little town still makes national news a hell of lot more than Big Bear.

Ahem…

In case you were wondering, here are the Seven Summits with elevation (feet)

Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340)
Tanzania
April 2006

Mount Elbrus 18,510
Russia
July 2007

Mount Aconcagua 22,841
Argentina
December 2007

Mount McKinley 20,320
United States
June 2008

Mount Carstensz Pyramid (16,024)
Indonesia
September 2009

Mount Everest (29,029)

Vinson Massif (16,050)

All of us are proud.

Over time, his website has had a makeover (and he has a nice logo now), and there are multiple pages on Facebook you can follow.

Just don’t fall for the “fake” ones that were auto-generated and taking people away from his real ones.

Finally, because I know my neighbor is reading this and will be up here shortly.

Yes, I wish they had done media training and coaching for the national media but what are you gonna do?

Finally, buy a few copies of  The Boy Who Conquered Everest now.

Thanks GG for keeping up the good work on the Fawnskin Flyer, it’s always good to see what’s happening on the other side of the lake!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yep, things are a bit different around on this side of the lake. Always amusing–that’s for sure!
