New Year New Direction

Old Miller School House Fawnskin

So, everyone is talking about their New Year’s Resolutions but GG forgot to make any!

However, I’ve been working on a strategic plan for the Fawnskin Flyer and my other websites as well as my business since I am well enough to get out and get going on things again.

Next week I will announce what some of these changes are–so stay tuned.

In the meantime, I know you are wanting to see what is happening around these parts.

Uh, err…a whole lot of nothing so far, except:

Winter Trails Day
The National Forest Association and REI have teamed up to present Winter Trails Day this Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the Discovery Center here in Fawnskin.

Most activities are free so you might want to join in the fun!

Call (909) 382-2790 for more information or to reserve a spot if needed.

  • Snowshoe Demos (every 30 minutes) starts at 10:00am
  • Showshoe Hike (sign up in advance) starts at 10:30am
  • Animal Tracking (every 30 minutes $3 per person) starts at 11:00am
  • 100 Yard Snowshoe Dash (demonstration) 11:30am
  • Nature Walks (30 minute tour) at 1:00pm & 2:00pm

Fawnkin Monthly Potluck
On Monday, January 9, 2012 it is once again time for the monthly North Shore Improvement Association’s potluck.

During the winter months, residents and members meet at the old Miller Park School House located at 1178 Chickasaw (at Mohawk) in Fawnskin.

The NSIA wants you to show up at 5:30pm for socializing but the potluck starts at 6:00pm.

Bring a dish to share and grab a friend, neighbor, relative or guest to join the fun.

Now I know it will break your heart, but there is no guest speaker this month.

For more information or questions please call Chris at (310) 880-3645.

That’s it for GG today…chat with you next week.
