Bear Over There

PM Mike shared a photo of a bear that has been raiding trash cans over near Flicker and Chinook.

Just a reminder to keep your garbage in until trash day pick-up.

He looks to me like he has mange and is losing weight but habituated bears just get into trouble.

I’ve ranted talked about this before:

So in case you missed it, last weekend was happy and hectic in Fawnskin.

GG’s been burning the midnight oil so you better not complain about the lousy post I put up previously. I did get out on my walk to the Post Office to take the above snap and I thought it was stunning, I had to share.

But really, things are better in person.

Anyway, my excuse was this ain’t a paid gig so the other stuff comes first which is why this was late and short.

But then, I tossed and turned and had to come back and edit because I was fraught with guilt over letting you all down.

Silly me…

Fawn Harbor Party

Down at Captain John’s Marine & Fawn Harbor, reggae music filled the air, BBQs were fired up, horse shoes were flyin’ and bathing suit clad people filled the little park.

Too bad they forgot to tell GG to promote it. You see, I get no respect around here despite the target audience and all.

Then, The Inn at Fawnskin was packed for the fundraiser supporting the Old Miners Days while down the road, a chili cookoff at the Moose Lodge was busy as well.

The Pirates Faire was happening too.

How is a gal to choose?

I didn’t, stayed home except that Karin got me to head down to meet her and since I hadn’t seen her in about six weeks, I ambled down and took a few quick snaps.

This weekend the Ren Faire people are back with the Victorian Steampunk Days. So, you get another go at things if you wish.

GG thinks it would be nice if people would think of spreading the activities out a bit so we could attend them all instead of choosing one over another and such.

But hey, silly me to think about such things.

NSIA Monthly Potluck

Jim Lyon of Bear Valley Search & Rescue will be the guest speaker at the monthly potluck Monday, June 11, 2012. Drop down at 5:30pm but the potluck starts at 6:00pm.

Bring and friend and some food down to Captain John’s Marina & Fawn Harbor.

Town Hall Meeting

The 5th Annual Town Hall meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Fawnskin Fire Station. I thought it was interesting that ALL Big Bear Valley residents are invited.

Sponsored by the Friends of Fawnskin and the North Shore Improvement Association it will start with a Continental Breakfast at 9:00AM.

More about this in next week’s TOT as it will be closer to the event.
