Big Bear Fireworks July 4th

Fawnskin Flyer 7th Anniversary
So the big news this weekend is that the fireworks are really all about celebrating the Fawnskin Flyer’s 7th anniversary. Believe it or not, this little thing that started as a joke has been being published since July 1, 2005 (4th of July weekend).

So, Happy Anniversary! Go ahead, leave GG a tip cuz this is all community service/volunteer!

Fawnskin Yard Sale
This weekend, July 4th means that it is time for the 2012 Annual Yard Sale in downtown Fawnskin. Held at Moose Lodge 2085, there is always a good selection of goods. Visit on July 4th-7th, 2012 and watch for the great Independence Day BBQ too about 4pm on the 7th.

Corvettes West
June 29th is the Corvettes West 30th Anniversary Big Bear Bash. Hard to imagine that it has been going on so long–but locals love the event and so do visitors. There will be a car show, game rally, auto cross and poker rally. For more information call Terry (909) 864-0372.

Discovery Center
June 30th concert. Classic Rock Doublehitter; The Long Run, Experience the Eagles, with special guest, Fortunate Son. Tribute to John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Show time 6:30pm for tickets visit the Discovery Center website.

Performing Arts Center
Performances of The King & I will continues July 1st – 8th (excluding the 4th) and you can buy your tickets online.

Fireworks Spectacular
The July 4th Fireworks over Big Bear Lake is one of California’s largest and most popular events. Join in the fun as this event is held lakeside while fireworks are shot from a barge.

Due to safety, no personal fireworks are allowed near the San Bernardino Forest.

Come early to enjoy the fun but remember that fireworks don’t start until about 8:45pm.

Viewing is possible throughout the valley but tickets for the BBQ are available at local shops in Big Bear including, Big Bear Pharmacy, Shelli’s Hallmark, Big Bear City Glass and Marina Resort.

Paddlefest
On July 7th-8th it will be time for the 4th Annual Big Bear Lake PaddleFest. No longer held in Fawnskin, join the fun at Meadow Park/Swim Beach (41220 Park Avenue in Big Bear Lake, CA). Enrollment $30-$65 online or $50-$85 onsite.

RIP Cindy Schwartz
Finally, for those of you who asked, yes–it is true. Cindy Schwartz took her own life almost a week ago. The community is both saddened and shocked. We want to express our condolences and send our prayers and good thoughts to the family.
