Mixin’ It Up in Fawnskin

So, GG thinks it is better to post late than never.

The main news today is that the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce is holding their mixer here in Fawnskin from 5:00pm until 7:00pm tonight, July 24, 2012.

The mixer will be hosted at the North Shore Trading Company–which also happens to be the headquarters (last I heard anyway) of the Fawnskin Chamber.

Members will be attending and locals will be crashing the gate–Fawnskin style.

Now I might be there in some official capacity of sorts.

A gal has got to leave the party perch sometime!

Trespassing in Fawnskin

Speaking of the party perch, things over the past month have been odd. This week trespassers decided it was okay to just march around on everyone’s property.

Now, I could have called the sheriff since they are aware of the troubles around these parts lately.

Instead GG opted to ask them if they were visiting the neighbors since they were on private property.

Hmm, could of had those nice deputies back and they would have come because the deputies also like the party perch.

Seriously, they all stop, take in the air and take a good solid look at the views.

Heh, heh, heh.

GG thinks it is good to have the deputies like their time on the party perch.

Anyway, a few years back some guys with a property development company had purchased some adjacent land thinking they could come in and develop it.

They were rude then and fortunately quickly found that they could not build because of the easement.

Thank goodness someone was enforcing the codes up here.

This guy claimed to be one of them–and not much had changed since I met him years ago–except the property doesn’t belong to him and he was knowingly trespassing.

Trespassers are a problem around here but only at certain locations or certain times of the year.

Visitors have been found playing on people’s decks, parking in people’s spaces, trudging all over plants, letting their pets poop and leaving it there, or simply making themselves at home on private docks or on the deck furniture.

GG tends to be a bit protective especially with the recent burglaries and all.

But beyond liability issues that home owners might face if someone gets hurt, what are they thinking?

Oh yeah, they probably are not thinking at all due to high altitude oxygen deprivation and all.

I mean seriously, we should ask them all for their addresses so we can trespass in kind–or send our friends over to return the favor.

Anyway, they lucked out that I did not call the sheriff–who is now on speed dial.

Yes, I knew you were wondering about that.

Now, it is important to know that if I had taken the picture from the other angle, it would have captured the “No Trespassing” sign.

Yep, right there for all to read and obey.

Or not.

Alright, hope to have more for you Thursday. In the meantime, I may see you tonight!

Peter Glatz came by a while back and told us there were people on our deck. We have a house on Garden Place. They said that they were enjoying the view.

LOL sorry to hear that. Yes, it is a problem valley wide. We’ve resorted to posting no trespassing signs and although I usually warn people, the sheriff has to come out 2 out of the 3 times now.
