Brookside Burglars & Cougar Sighting

Neighborhood Watch Fawnskin

GG is again departing from the normal editorial schedule to bring you breaking news, if you have not heard.

The Sheriff’s deputy prowled around many Brookside homes on Saturday night after being alerted to a burglary on Brookside, GG saw the flashlight and was ready to do some loud “Git” commands when she discovered it was law enforcement.

Burglars had forceably kicked in the downstairs door two houses down the road. The door was out of view from the street and they then took their time to clear out a variety of higher end items and decor.

They then locked the door upon exiting. The only upside to the incident is that they did not vandalize the home.

GG has been mostly steering clear of Brookside due to the number of incidents this summer and other neighbors did not witness any unusual activity. Contractors working on the street level next door, and those working on the roof here did not witness any strange activity.

As far as anyone knows, the event took place sometime within the last four weeks.

Neighbors are asked to keep an eye out. If you are a part-time resident, make sure you connect with neighbors to avoid further incidents.

Different deterrents being discussed?

  • Lights on timers,
  • burglar alarms,
  • shotgun traps,
  • share your unique ideas in the comments…

If you see any suspect activity such as moving trucks, trucks, or unfamiliar people on the block, be sure to check in with neighbor and call law enforcement.

Cougar Fawnskin

Cougar
Every fall locals tend to see, or hear, cougar and bears near the corridor North of Brookside at the bend past Cedar Dell.

Just last week or so, rumors began to surface stating that the cougar has ventured into this part of its territory again like it does every year.

Be alert if you are active at dawn or dusk and please review our

Hmm, maybe we could train the cougar to attack thieves…what do you think?
