Fabulous Fawnskin

Fawnskin Post Office Custodian

Fawnskin Post Office
Locals are waiting to see just what happens at the Fawnskin Post Office since January 12, 2013 changes are to occur.

Last week I met Ron, of Big Bear City Post Office, who dropped by to check things out.

Our little Post Office is supposed to now be under his jurisdiction–although all commercial mailing has been moved to Big Bear Lake–go figure.

The Big Bear Grizzly delivery may be also impacted since they will be delivered to the Big Bear Lake office beginning next week–so brace yourselves.

And today, the Fawnskin Post Office got a custodian–another Mike.

It has been a long while since we had a clean up service at the little mail center. Mike will be working at keeping things sparkling on a daily basis so say hello.

He was hard at work while I was there today.

Don’t you just love my action news photos?

Fawnskin Buddhist Temple

Temple Visitors
Over the holidays GG got to spend a lot of time with those visiting the local Buddhist Temple.

It is always a great day and there is also great home made Thai food.

This last week more visitors came up to ring in the New Year.

Word is spreading about this unique temple and it is great to see so many new faces.

NSIA Pot Luck
Make sure to plan on attending the January 14, 2013 monthly potluck.

All Fawnskin residents are invited to bring a friend, a neighbor, house guest, and come to join the fun.

Plan on arriving at 5:30pm at the Old Miller School House located at 1178 Chickasaw Lane in Fawnskin.

No speaker this month.

New Neighbors
My long time neighbor Steve has left the mountain and the new neighbors, Jill and Don are getting settled in.

Some of you met Jill at the December NSIA Potluck, be sure to say hello and make them feel welcome!

Deck Time
So, c-c-cold temperatures and ice have been keeping me nestled in mostly.

However, today I was out on the deck in 60 degree weather enjoying the sun.

Word has it that temperatures are going to be dropping into the single digits shortly so get ready!

Okay, that’s it for now–catch you later in the week!
